After a little bit of wheedling from nerds, instead of relaxing on his one day off, Kaz can be found:

1.) On the Barian Island! He's got questions that he could really care less about but might be important down the line. So, he's here to ask them and maybe just get conversations with sane people.

2.) At a cafe in his 'way too relaxed' teacher garb. He's going over papers in a folder, occasionally puffing on his unlit cigarette in his mouth. Sometimes he consults a large cork board at his feet.

"Yeah, I don't think I got told that. So, in all his worthlessness missed that little detail."

He sighs, sipping on his coffee. Is there a job he can do with his talents that DOESN'T mean he's working for an eccentric billionaire? ... no, probably not.

The rumors are all carefully categorized into 'solved, debunked, and ongoing.' Seems he's pulling from quite a few sources, backing up the urban legend/rumor posts with eyewitness testimony, has her as a 'credible source' since she's at least hit the idea of the actual stories.

The ones that clearly interest him are 'vigilante action' detailing the actions of a young woman beating up gangs. And 'why is my tap water honey, who is responsible for this.'

OOPARTS is almost entirely funded by Black Velvet with the Domino Police Force barely putting in any money. Though I'm currently in the middle of financial restructuring and trying to make sure everything is on the up-and-up and avoiding excess waste, since the company is no longer Noriko's playground.

"...Yeah, I'm looking into that. It moves like water, tastes like honey. It's in my entire apartment complex and some of the surrounding area. It's not a super big deal, I thought it was a herald of some fae king's coming but he's dead and it's still happening. A really minor quirk of living here, I guess? Maybe a really lousy curse.

Anyway, business then. Can I get ya a coffee, tiny overpriced sandwich, before I get to try to justify my existence?"

Good. He's getting tired of runarounds and not so fun riddles.

"I'm part of 'heavy weaponry' because of my body, dueling style, and penchant for resorting to explosives. I hand craft 'em, don't take anything out of the budget for 'em. I've been doing this or other military/security jobs since I was 18, enlisted right after high school. I'm now fifty.

As you can tell, I'm not just a meathead like the rest of the populace of my size. Each of those is a detailed case I'm currently working on, some with months of work put into them. I take great pride in my skills as a detective, miss Wakahisa, and would say I would rank my skills in actual field and case work on par with my combat, if not moreso.

The chart in a public place gives no classified details away and has actually helped me obtain information from sources who have been curious and asked and I have given as little as possible away and made sure to walk out with more than I came with."

For what looks like a scuzzy 80s metal head, he is... remarkably devious and organized.

... So why's Onni the boss? You come off as frankly more competent than him. Or is that the point, that he handles the desk work since you're better at the actual ground work?

Also, your scuzzy 80s metal band look is a positive in my opinion.

"I'm just... the rumor mill that girl posts isn't quite spot on, but it's not wrong either? The girls listed... It just doesn't feel RIGHT to me. They wouldn't have tech like OOPARTS either, if the belt is also spot on."

Not really. Just keep doing a good job and I might consider not trying to prune OOPARTS' budget to control Onni's waste.

That's what I'm doing, yes. And to be honest, I don't think me or my 'sister' are typically normal "Rich people". We have vast wealth but, we view it as a means, rather than an end, unlike most, I think. Money is.

Kinda pointless.
