Kaz is doing fine. He's not in some sort of strange state of simultaneous shock and happiness, that'd be crazy talk! ... okay, he's in a state of weird shock with how weird his life has gotten in the last two weeks, let alone last few days. It's probably fine. Kaz can be found:

1. In his personal office at 'Infernal Mysteries' filling up a suitcase. You either have an appointment or you're dropping in on him unexpectedly. Either way, it's the same stuff: Clothes, a wicked looking axe, some sort of tactical gear, ingredients that seem like they could be used to make bombs... The suitcase is clearly not normal.

2. At Flamvell, getting a steady stream of food and carbs and, weirdly enough, just mostly low alcohol beers that he's treating like most people treat water. He seems more... pensive than usual. Like he's got alot on his brain.

3. Out and about, jogging through the park, working out at a gym, or even some agility course. He absolutely still 'has it' though he seems a bit slower than the last time he was really active.

Kaz seems equally surprised at Mamoru and grins widely after he wipes his mouth off a little.

"Yeah, I am. Look at who's emerged from his research!" He motions a little towards the staff.

"I got your tab tonight, don't worry about it. How the hell are you man?"

"I'll take the long answer. It feels like it's been ages since I've also been able to get out too, so I'm looking forward to hearing stuff. And no, it ain't been anything exciting. Just mostly work and kid stuff, takes up alot more time than I thought it would."

"They're doing, uh. Really good. All of 'em. Helen and Eira are matching headaches, but I remember how much of a pain in the ass I was at fourteen, so I get it. I'm hoping a little bit of freedom going to school helps a little bit, extracurriculars and the like. Everyone else is an adult, doing mostly fine."

He finishes his drink and gets another small beer.

"How's Akira doing?"

"Possessed by something of mysterious origin, huh? I'm gonna go out and a limb and assume this factors strongly into why it's a loaded question and why it's gonna be a long answer."

Kaz continues packing his bag, considering a katana. He squints at it, then sets it in sideways.

"Can I help ya young lady?"

"For me, yeah. I'm nearing... jeez, guess I'm near sixty? At least that's my best guess."

He doesn't look much over 35. He notices your squinting at the katana and grins a little.

"Packing for a little work trip, so unless your job's gonna be really pressing and life or death, I'll have to get to it in a few days."

He stops packing his back and straightens up.

"Why aren't ya sure? Is it like a, hm. You need info? Hurting people costs extra unless I'm technically on the right side of the law."

Maybe just talking might be enough and I can pay for your time just for that.

"Memory's slippery? That's getting more common." He motions for you to sit down as he sets his suitcase aside.

"I like talking to people, so I don't charge for that. If we figure out what's up, we'll do some stuff to keep both of us from forgetting and go from there." He hrms as he starts setting up a few recording devices, one analogue, one on a cellphone. "You okay with me recording this in like, three different ways?"

You know, it's probably around the time that I ended up with void twins. I've stopped questioning things.

"In this economy? At least a fiver." He looks up, looking a little harried still.

"'S a good look for ya. I know this is almost a swanky place, but I'm surprised you're still working here."

... I haven't really felt a reason to stop, unless you've got a better suggestion. Though, joint's quiet enough and I get to punch people occasionally, so it's fine.
