Kaz is doing fine. He's not in some sort of strange state of simultaneous shock and happiness, that'd be crazy talk! ... okay, he's in a state of weird shock with how weird his life has gotten in the last two weeks, let alone last few days. It's probably fine. Kaz can be found:

1. In his personal office at 'Infernal Mysteries' filling up a suitcase. You either have an appointment or you're dropping in on him unexpectedly. Either way, it's the same stuff: Clothes, a wicked looking axe, some sort of tactical gear, ingredients that seem like they could be used to make bombs... The suitcase is clearly not normal.

2. At Flamvell, getting a steady stream of food and carbs and, weirdly enough, just mostly low alcohol beers that he's treating like most people treat water. He seems more... pensive than usual. Like he's got alot on his brain.

3. Out and about, jogging through the park, working out at a gym, or even some agility course. He absolutely still 'has it' though he seems a bit slower than the last time he was really active.

Kaz seems equally surprised at Mamoru and grins widely after he wipes his mouth off a little.

"Yeah, I am. Look at who's emerged from his research!" He motions a little towards the staff.

"I got your tab tonight, don't worry about it. How the hell are you man?"

"I'll take the long answer. It feels like it's been ages since I've also been able to get out too, so I'm looking forward to hearing stuff. And no, it ain't been anything exciting. Just mostly work and kid stuff, takes up alot more time than I thought it would."

"They're doing, uh. Really good. All of 'em. Helen and Eira are matching headaches, but I remember how much of a pain in the ass I was at fourteen, so I get it. I'm hoping a little bit of freedom going to school helps a little bit, extracurriculars and the like. Everyone else is an adult, doing mostly fine."

He finishes his drink and gets another small beer.

"How's Akira doing?"

Basically. It's something that got brought to my attention shortly after my stalker... "Alternate", I guess, went and caused a mess by trying to attack me.

And there's not a lot I can actually do about it.

He pauses, there's a moment, then he gets another low alcohol beer.

"Have you tried consulting some of the experts on the Strange around here? They could maybe get you some leads and help."

Oh, no, ironically, he did succeed in what he was trying to do. Whatever he wanted with me though, was mostly just a bonus thing in his case.

Problem is that apparently it's tied up with a police investigation, and that if something tries to be done about it, the one possessing him might make a run for it.

He scratches at his beard and hrrms as he tries to think.

"Normal police investigation or OOPARTS investigations? Either way it's a pain in the ass but I can maybe pull some strings and it seems like whatever's in him is... jumpy. Which isn't a good sign.

Is it full possession, or are they switching back and forth? Gina got possessed like, three times by the same spirit, so I've got some experience in this realm. Granted, bastard wasn't jumpy, so it made it real easy."

OOPARTS investigation. And they seem to be switching back and forth-- least whatever is possessing him is smart enough to not show up when I'm watching, but...

It managed to slip me a weird crystal that transformed me into a Demise monster, for a bit.

Kaz carefully cuts up his food now that he's in polite company.

"I can see what I can do, since I freelance for 'em sometimes, get my hands on anything they're willing to share with me. Makes it way harder to strongarm than normal cops.

... wait, a crystal? That turned you into a monster? Like, Demise, King of Armageddon?"

Kaz closes his eyes, thinking. Thinking. There was another thing of weird crystals turning people into monsters, wasn't there...? Werewolves?

According to reports, it was a "Demise, Agent of Armageddon", instead. The Level 4 variant. *and there sure was.*

I had heard... something before it, like someone was trying to talk to me, before it happened. It was a very strange experience-- I blacked out during it, and next I knew, some lilac-haired teenaged girl had her knee in my back, and Sakaki Yuya was there, too.

*the food comes next. he munches on it a bit*

Honestly not something I'd want to repeat. But Akira-- and whoever is possessing him-- was the only one who could've slipped that crystal into my pocket.

Kaz takes a deep breath.

"I got a day or two's worth of work in Tokyo coming up, but I'll be free after that. A few years back, there was something similar. We were finding crystals that had turned people into monsters, usually werewolves or something. I don't remember if we found anything out after that...

... if you don't mind me offering my services, now that the girls are old enough to be mostly trusted alone. Free of charge, of course."

I'd appreciate it, actually. LDS has a... vested interest in the crystals, so I'd rather that element not get out to them-- a whole bunch of them ended up appearing around the campus at the same time and causing a disturbance, and they'd likely try to take him into custody if they learn he was connected to that.

And that's the last way I'd want to end up aggravating whoever, or whatever it is, that's taking over my nephew.

And I trust LDS about as far as I could throw the campus." He finally gets a bottle of sake, pouring a glass for them both and setting the bottle between them as he sips on it.

"This stuff about Akira doesn't leave me. Anyone else besides the two of us know about it? Or suspect it?"

Pretty certain that lilac-haired girl was the one who knew first, from what I've been told. Apparently LDS kidnapped her for a time, and she found out during my Alternate's attack on me. *that's sure a whole other can of worms*

And of course, Haita knows. Labrys is aware as well-- I have her keeping an eye on him whenever I'm not around, and I... Trust her enough, at least. She's less likely to do anything that'll upset me, especially anymore.

Yes, she's... ironically submitted information for me to look over as part of a hiring process. She's interested in assisting me with my work, but I assume it's because she's suspicious about Akira.

But the only name she gave was "Lulu". No surname. Which if I didn't know better already...

The fact that she's apparently a Domino High student with no known parentage, was previously held in captivity by my place of employment, has audibly expressed knowledge of the "crystals" to the point of giving up information to get one of the black ops members off her back, in my presence...

Well, there's a lot to be suspicious about.

Labrys has remarked that the girl gives her a slightly "kindered" sensation.

Kaz drains his glass of sake and pour another. Not like he can get drunk anymore anyway.

"Do you have any crystals? Shards or whole, doesn't matter. I got one person whose expertise in this stuff would be invaluable. Magic isn't exactly my strong suit."

Not in my possession, no. Only one I ended up with was broken to untransform me. And LDS has been confiscating all others that've been found.

Honestly... it's a real mess. *hanging his head a bit* But that's why I mentioned if you'd want "long" or "short".
