A short series of Kaz vignettes.

Event One:

Kaz just finished destroying Trendafilka in a duel. He doesn't look happy about it as he's taken a seat at the bar at Flamvell, nursing a water. Guy looks like he's got alot on his mind. Maybe you can help ease it? Or make it worse. Lord knows he deserves worse.

Event Two:

He's at the docks, with a huge bag next to him, eyeing some boat rentals. He looks pretty shady.

Event Three:

He's in a suit, at LDS. He's got an important meeting, it looks like. So, he's on his way to, or he's already waiting. Kaz is timely, like he's keeping it mostly together.

Miss Hiragi? Mister Briar, synchro teacher at LDS and officer at OOPARTS.

I've been meaning to get to ya on this, but I've been busy and ya've cropped up a few times when I've been keeping up with the junior league. There's no doubt in my mind now. I ran into a girl that looked just like ya a few weeks ago in a really shady part of town.

A quick smile as he sips on his water.

"Just... didn't think I'd take the kid out that easy, is all."

He gestures vaguely to where she's still outside, now looking quite depressed as she shifts around her deck and reading her books.

"She's good, but... Distracted. Very distracted."

"Oh, uh. She's dueling the top Ryozanpaku guy for her spot in the finals. And whatever else eats at teenage beast children."

He waves a hand.

"I assume romance."

Romance is good though.

::President Akaba walks by, scarf flowing behind him. He seems to be heading for an elevator, Kaz.::

Some things don't die, even when they're from thirty years ago. He salutes as you walk by. Then curses himself. This isn't the army, but why does he give off that... Hrm.

"Mr. President, sir. May I have a moment of your time?"

Five minutes. Ten at most if necessary. Start talking. Avoid pleasantries or formality.

"Y'sir.

I'd like to hold a New Horizons event for self-defense, for which I'll need the action dueling facilities. If trends in dueling continue as they have, I'd like to have these kids prepared to face the like of the Crusher when they get out of our school and into the pros. Not to encourage the violence, like the Junior League seems to, but enough they don't end up populating hospitals."

::I want to toss out those Ryozanpaku delinquents at this point. I don't like the impression they give to Reira. But with Academia coming, they're an ugly necessity...::

Give me 24 hours to think about it. I'll sign off on it or deny it by then.

And, ah. About Ryozanpaku. Should we allow them to participate as well, if I'm approved? I haven't seen anything official about condoning the violence, but... Should we spill that into New Horizons as well?"

Sets his bag down. And opens it, revealing books.

"Ain't illegal to ship books to our latest dimensional immigrants, kid."

He starts pulling. Classic Japanese Literature. Water Margin, Journey to the West. Some books on history and homesteading. ... multiple copies of a detective series.

"So, uh. They can kinda get a good idea of what Earth's been like until the last ten years.

...ya ain't in my courses, are ya? I'd recognize a face and stance like yours."

He closes up his bag before slinging it back onto his back.

"Ya doing wet work and heavy lifting for him, or just 'keeping an eye out' because there's no end to all of the weird shit that's been happening?"

Yeah. That's my twin sister clone imposter that's possibly from the future.

What'd she do this time, blow up a sushi cart?

...You're... pretty relaxed about this.

Nah, she was just... hanging out. Looked distressed. Looked like she was about to cry when I showed her Zoodiacs, which, to be fair, is most people's reaction.

Serena ring any bells?

I mean I was really angry at first, but then I just sorta realized there's nothing I can do about it? Besides going and finding her. And I haven't found the time to do that with all the dueling I've been having to do lately.

Uhhhhmmm.

Not really. I think that's Sailor Moon's name in some places?

Also, probably going to run something Monday ya might need for duels coming up. It's gonna be titled 'if ya can dodge a monster, ya can dodge a Ryozanpaku.' If you're gonna take the high road and not hit them back, that's commendable. We'll try and just work agility.

...not much I can fit into a few hour seminar, but we'll try.
