Ah, man. Sometimes it's really good to just get a little bit of exercise and roommate time in.

Hey, uh. This ain't for me (shocking, I know) but we don't happen to have some sort of lawyer on retainer, do we?

Also kinda sorry for shoving all those people in the cells and the added paperwork on ya boss. Everything we did was legal though.

You can find Kaz sitting outside his apartment complex, tinkering with his bike in the late morning. An open bottle of rum sits next to him and he's dressed in a leather jacket with a jet black helmet tossed to the side. Occasionally he'll curse at the machine and take a pull from the bottle of rum.

OR

Kaz sits near the docks, within sight of the high speed rail, a little while after he could be found at his apartment. He sits near his bike on a bench, smoking a cigarette and flicking through his tablet.

Yeah, well. Neither do I. Hopefully the boss can let us know.

...I got the outlines of one, I gotta talk to the kids first. But. Probably getting hired as a thug, getting evidence on their willingness to harm children in a race to a fortune, and having them declared unfit to be their guardians. Maybe abusing my partner's illusion abilities.

Plan C's like that, but with a brawl or eight in the middle of it.

The kids with the Barian cores in them are also at the center of a familial feud for a fortune. They hired some goons, which they escaped, and are now staying at the Wakahisa 'estate.' The goons are... Mostly taken care of. And in custody for threatening an officer. Not my fault Officer Adams wasn't the white haired kid they were looking for, nor after threatening him, he responded with an appropriate use of force.

I'm going to collect statements at the estate and figure out the next step for OOPARTS. If they're telling the truth, it's... a rather sticky situation. I don't think they've got any reason to lie, but. It's still a possibility I'm keeping in mind.

Mmm. Don't think so. They're not on the island, at least when I am. Think this is about the human part of their lives, rather than the Barian. Which. Makes my jurisdiction as an officer here... rather murky.

Yeah, it's why I asked. OOPARTS is specifically for supernatural stuff. They're supernatural themselves, I guess? But legal stuff like that might be handled better by someone else...

I'm open to suggestions, because this is a little out of my skill set. And so I can act openly and not with skullduggery or explosions. For once. I'm heading out there because they, uh. Seemed like they were in trouble. And even without OOPARTS backing I got no taste for people who're willing to hurt kids.

I was a shut-in for a while after escaping from being the Signer of the Red Dragon Archfiend. It wasn't a good time for me.

Honestly, I think getting their actual testimonies and information would go a long way in figuring out how to get everything down. And if they already have plans for how to handle this, and if they want to file an actual claim. Things like that.

Yeah, that's what I had thought. Even getting a bit of information in a situation like this might help them out a whole lot in the long run. So, by the book we go.
