"Just, you know. Doll hunting and working up the guts to tell a girl I'm her dad she's been looking for."

"Badly! I have no idea how to approach the whole thing. You got any idea?"

Why would I have any ideas on it. That's the kinda scenario I'd not want to touch.

"Maybe you had some suggestions for me, I dunno."

It's the last thing I'd be thinking about. Or want to think about. Or really even start to think about.

So I'm not going to think about it. Let's stop talking about kids. *before I decide to freak out or something and consider being a shut-in again.*

"...Oh. ...I see! Anyway, shouldn't you go and hang out with bug man?"

"...We can talk about what I'm suspecting then. How old are they?"

Who are you talking about. There is no "they". I wouldn't know the age of any "they", or that they might be like, twelve. I don't know, there's no telling theoretical ages.

"...Good luck with that theoretical child! Best to get that out of the way too."

I'll only get it out of the way if this theoretical child acts at all like they're looking for their dad that shouldn't be existing.

[ogrewarrior]

"That's pretty reasonable, honestly. The only reason I'm going to do it is because she IS looking for me. ...theoretically."

Really? *he quiets down that surprise in his tone, recomposing himself* I mean. Yes, sure. Besides, it seems like the kid has other problems at the moment that're more important to them, than whether their might-be-dead-dad is around or not.

Theoretically, of course.

"Well, as a dead-beat dad myself, there's always a chance to help if you know, they're struggling with stuff. They don't have to know you're their theoretical father."

... I think the particular thing they're theoretically having a problem with is uh.

Something I think they'd prefer choosing who helps them with it.

[ogrewarrior]

"Fair enough. It's your life you're going on. Just trying to give out unwanted advice."

He laughs at that.
