Kaz is doing fine. He's not in some sort of strange state of simultaneous shock and happiness, that'd be crazy talk! ... okay, he's in a state of weird shock with how weird his life has gotten in the last two weeks, let alone last few days. It's probably fine. Kaz can be found:

1. In his personal office at 'Infernal Mysteries' filling up a suitcase. You either have an appointment or you're dropping in on him unexpectedly. Either way, it's the same stuff: Clothes, a wicked looking axe, some sort of tactical gear, ingredients that seem like they could be used to make bombs... The suitcase is clearly not normal.

2. At Flamvell, getting a steady stream of food and carbs and, weirdly enough, just mostly low alcohol beers that he's treating like most people treat water. He seems more... pensive than usual. Like he's got alot on his brain.

3. Out and about, jogging through the park, working out at a gym, or even some agility course. He absolutely still 'has it' though he seems a bit slower than the last time he was really active.

Yes, she's... ironically submitted information for me to look over as part of a hiring process. She's interested in assisting me with my work, but I assume it's because she's suspicious about Akira.

But the only name she gave was "Lulu". No surname. Which if I didn't know better already...

"Maybe it's both. Your work is pretty interesting, and she can do something she wants to do while keeping an eye on Akira."

A pause.

"Lulu. Huh. What's your suspicions about that?"

The fact that she's apparently a Domino High student with no known parentage, was previously held in captivity by my place of employment, has audibly expressed knowledge of the "crystals" to the point of giving up information to get one of the black ops members off her back, in my presence...

Well, there's a lot to be suspicious about.

Labrys has remarked that the girl gives her a slightly "kindered" sensation.

"... that's a whole lot of info for just a lilac-haired young lady to know. Got it. So you're saying she is absolutely our best lead. But we can't let her too close to Akira, just in case.

And she feels slightly like kindred to the Barians. Good. That makes things so simple."

Kaz drains his glass of sake and pour another. Not like he can get drunk anymore anyway.

"Do you have any crystals? Shards or whole, doesn't matter. I got one person whose expertise in this stuff would be invaluable. Magic isn't exactly my strong suit."

Not in my possession, no. Only one I ended up with was broken to untransform me. And LDS has been confiscating all others that've been found.

Honestly... it's a real mess. *hanging his head a bit* But that's why I mentioned if you'd want "long" or "short".

"Damn. I'd like to try and get my hands on a whole one and pass it to my occult expert. Which means I'll probably have to get my hands on one through LDS' collection... And I got a feeling they won't hand them over if I ask nicely. I'll figure it out."

"It's a big mess, but you're not alone in it Mamoru." He reaches out and gently pats his friend on the shoulder. "I get it though. The long version is usually the best way to go, especially with me."

*he didn't really expect the physical contact, but he's. a bit happier for it.*

Honestly, the past six months in general have been... extra strange for me. But I appreciate the support. Really.

*he takes another drink, letting out a sigh* ... I punched Failnaught during all of it. I think you missed me dealing with all of that. I think that was the only satisfying thing that's happened the past half-year.

He nearly chokes at the mention of you punching Failnaught, managing to keep most of his drink in his mouth.

"You punched Failnaught? I would pay money to have watched that happen, damn." He pauses. Knows what the punch was probably about. ... and that he may need to check in on Failnaught soon. "But we'll make the rest of the year try to be less strange.

You should come over for dinner at some point and bring Akira, actually."

Heh. Funnily, both Labrys and Aegis seemed to think that was a good move. So maybe it was just a long time coming for him.

... But you know what? Yes, I'll do that. I'll bring Akira by for dinner, sometime. It's getting warmer out. Something... more in line with "normal" might help a lot. *well, as normal as normal can be.*

Yes, a normal dinner with a normal family.

"Sometimes you need a good hit to get yourself straightened out. But yeah, I'll prepare the family to be on their best behavior for a few hours."

He considers for a few seconds before he continues.

"Gwen's about as good with weird shit as I am, but Helen and Eira are different, so there’s a pretty good possibility that they may end up playing a 'I know that you know that I know' game with whatever's in Akira."

*... taking a bite of his fried food before answering that* I accept the risks of that.

And maybe I can tell then if he is aware or not, if he picks up on any of it.

But hopefully you'll inform them to not press too hard on anything odd that's sticking out to them. And to not pop out of weird places anymore.

"The popping out is stopping, thankfully. What it's gonna be replaced with is gonna be worse, but here we are. I think they've learned subtlety, so it should be easy for them to maybe look weird at him, but not cause a scene at all. And then we can see.

Two birds with one stone. Any particular dishes you really like? I've gotten really good at cooking."

Really, you? I thought it was your eldest who was the real cook in the family, given this place.

I usually end up eating a lot of quick meals, anyway. But since it's getting warmer out... something grilled would be nice. *so steak. chicken. fish. probably wouldn't be too hard.*

"Came with the 'trying to be a good dad' territory. Love Gwen to death, but she just ain't got the aptitude for it. Don't worry, Gina still beats me by a mile, but I ain't bad." He grins as he considers the options and nods.

"I can do that, some grilled fish and veggies..."

Sounds fine by me. Just set a day, and we'll be there.
