1.) Kaz sits in a patio restaurant, eating a sandwich, drinking a beer, and smoking occasionally. Maybe you've called him there to meet after a nightmare meeting, or you're there to ruin his afternoon. What looks like a bakery package is at his feet He's also considering some notes on his tablet, but seems much more interested in his lunch.

2.) Or he's on the Barian island. True to his word, he has brought a few different kinds of beer, a boar hunting spear, a book, and Sullivan, who seems really excited to be there..

And the large man has chunked the spear right through the hivemind, which falls to the ground. He meanders over to it, finishing his beer and chunking the bottle aside. He leans over the prone person, leans down.

There's some whispering, before he gives a thumbs up to Kai and Koyo. Pulls his spear up and puts it back over his shoulders, swaggering over to Kai.

"Boot it back up, kid. I told it if it won a match of three, we'll just... let it go."

*he nods. ... they'll... they'll be able to duel, right? he's gotta trust that they can after being speared.

He boots back up the dueling system though.*

Duel two, start!

They sort of stagger, the hole slowly reforming via some weird black particles, like the body is made of some sort of gook. Has that... weird, cheery person always been gook?

"We'll go first. First off, Chaos Zone!"

Swirling portals open up around them, swirling bits of light.

"Then, Evilswarm Thunderbird!" (1650 ATK)

A horrific corruption of a winged beast appears and chitter/roars, flapping it's wings.

"And~ We're done."

*I mean.

It wouldn't be a shock? He draws his cards.*

Now this is more like it! Activate the Field Spell of my own, Rising Sun Over the Aurora Sea! *he slots it in, as while the portals are all still there, a vast ocean now spreads out around them, with a sunrise in the distance making the water glimmer.*

Now, I summon Aurora Summoner! *the summoner returns. still (1600 ATK), and still kinda dull-colored-- but what's more interesting is Kai pointing at Thunderbird* Summoner attacks Thunderbird!

"Huh? Have you lost your mind under the pressure?"

The thunderbird opens it's mouth and destroys the Thunderbird with purple lightning.

"Was your first duel a fluke?"

*he just smiles, even as Aurora Summoner is destroyed, leaving water particles.*

First off, Rising Sun Over the Aurora Sea halves all damage to me so long as an Aurora monster was controlled! *his LP reduces to a mere 7975.*

Next... The secret power of the Aurora monsters! Revive! Aurora Summoner returns, and a counter is added to my field, increasing their power!

*The water particles reform quite suddenly, as Aurora Summoner is born anew-- only this time, they're glowing their very form reflecting the rising sunlight in a myriad of colors. a drop of water is heard in the distance, echoing. (1600 > 1700 ATK)*

"We banish Evilswarm Thuderbird using it's own ability as your creature is resummoned!"

The bird vanishes, one of the glowing void portals ALSO getting a counter on it now.

"And one counter is added to Chaos Zone. You may get to attack us directly, but you will not remain so smug for long, boy."

Oh, come on, who says I'm being smug?

Aurora Summoner attacks directly! *the Summoner shoots off a water spell at you, Sullivan, hitting square into you for that 1700 damage.*

After that... Main Phase 2! Since Summoner was revived through the first effect, it's real effect is now active! I can discard one WATER-attribute monster from my deck-- in this case, Aurora Titan, to special summon a WATER-attribute monster from my deck that has 1500 or less ATK!

*he discards the Titan, in order to summon a different Titan. A hulking ice creature appears, this one dull in color like the Summoner was. (1400 > 1500 ATK)*

I set three cards. Turn end!

Swarmivan steps back, shrugging at the damage [6300] and staring at the set cards.

Thunderbird reappears at [1950] via it's effect.

"Now! We special summon Evilswarm Mandragora! (1550 ATK) and then we summon Evilswarm Obliviwhisp! We overlay Mandragora and Obliviwhisp! One of the three heads of the swarm, Evilswarm Bahamut! (2350 ATK)

And we discard Mandragora from our hand and Obliviwhisp from Bahamut!"

The tremendous bug dragon breathes out the same goop all over Titan, who walks over to Sullivan's side, now full of chitin!

"And with Titan! We overlay Titan and Mandragora! Right hand of the swarm! Eviswarm Roach! (1900 ATK)" A roach knight appears, less refined than the last one.

"Roach! Destroy the summoner again!"

*Kai's a little perturbed by his Titan getting stolen for Xyz material like that, but... what can he do?

The Summoner gets attacked by the Roach Knight, shattering into water droplets again, before reforming. Another drop of water is heard, his LP at 7875. (1600 > 1800 ATK)*

Summoner's revival effect can activate once per turn!

"Oh, good. Evilswarm Bahamut! Destroy the summoner again!"

*he covers his face, like he can't watch...*



*but then he grins, peeking out*

I got my counter from the revival, so I don't need your guys to stick around. Activate, Holy Barrier - Mirror Force!

*the card flips up, as the water in front of Summoner rises up, freezing into an icy mirror, which shatters as the attack hits and reflects back at your monsters, Swarmivan.*

... all of them explode.

Swarmivan stares at their empty field.

"...End."

That's what I thought. Draw!

*he draws his card, looking at it*

I activate Salvage, so I can retrieve the two Titans from my Graveyard! *the cards slot out, as he grabs them*

Next, Summoner's effect! I discard Aurora Glider Drake from the deck to Special Summon: Aurora Belon! (1400 > 1600 ATK) *that bird appears, dull as ever.*

Next, normal summon Aurora Titan, and then... Construct the Overlay Network! I use the Level 4 Aurora Titan and the Level 4 Aurora Belon! Let's try this again, okay?

*he holds out his hand as the two monsters combine into the network*



Riding through the infinite sea, here it comes! Xyz Summon, Number 101: Silent Honor ARK!

*the ship makes it's new appearance, still dwarfing everyone else. Only this time it gets a boost from the watery surroundings. (2100 > 2300 ATK)*

I'll attack directly with Aurora Summoner, and if nothing stops that... Then I attack as well with Silent Honor ARK!

*water magic and charged up lasers right into you, Swarmivan. Again, that laser feels like it wants to burn at your infested soul.*

Turn end!

They shriek again, burning down to [2200] as they smolder, looking like they're melting for a second before reasserting themselves.

"Draw! Pot of Dichotomy! Add Mandragora, Obliviwhisp, and Thunderbird to our deck and draw two cards. Allure of Darkness, to draw two more cards and banish Evilswarm Golem from our hand." Another counter opens, a few of those otherworldly portals open again.

"Creeping Darkness to banish Bahamut and Mandragora to add another Obliviwhisp to our hand. We remove the counters from Chaos Zone to special summon Mandragora! Summon Evilswarm Castor! And then with Castor's effect we summon Obliviwhisp again. Construct the overlay network! The leader of the swarm! Evilswarm Ouroboros!"

The huge thing roars, multiple heads moving in and out of the body as it detaches a material as it roars, coating the Aurora Field in gunk, sending it back to Kai's hand.

"And that's our turn."

Aha. That should be big enough.

*he draws. what is he talking about??*

It's time! I'm going to be reconstructing the Overlay Network with Number 101: Silent Honor ARK!



*he holds out his hand as Silent Honor ARK turns into light, along with its' materials, into the Network*

Release yourself from your core! It's time to fight back against the abyss! Xyz Summon! Shining Number 101: Silent Honor ARKADIA! *the Red Core from the ship appears, before cracking and opening up, forming a decently large-- but smaller than that ship-- warrior, holding a lance. The 101 is emblazoned on its' side, and it's armor is a shining white. (2800 ATK)*

They stare at it. ... that's going to be a problem. They reach for something on their disk, but stop and tilt their head, hair falling out of the chitin, doofy grin on their face.

"Oooo~ I think I like that monster a whole lot~ I'm keeping it from getting too tricky for you, Mister Kai, but I don't know how long I can keep it up though~"

*he gives a small look of surprise, before smiling*

Well, good, because this is how I'm gonna help at all!



Silent Honor ARKADIA's effect! When it's summoned, I can attach one monster you control as a material! ARKADIA! Take Evilswarm Ouroboros!

*ARKADIA forms what seems to be a new core at the tip of it's spear, before flinging it right at your monster, Sullivan. Try as Ouroboros might, it can't escape being captured, as the core shrinks down in size and condenses into a Material light.*

Now, just to be safe... Reactivate Rising Sun Over the Aurora Sea! *he slips back in the card, as once again, the surroundings become appropriately watery and sunrisey.*

Summoner's effect! I discard Aurora Glider Drake to Special Summon Aurora Belon! (1400 ATK) Normal summon, Aurora Titan! (1400 ATK)

Overlay them! The crashing giant of ice and snow, come out, Aurora Gigas! *the Network forms, as a giant with that glossy, icy form tears through the space that forms, before landing on the ground. (2400 ATK)

How do you plea, Swarmivus, facing down both monsters?*

Swamivan stares.

"What?! We could've banished that ARK! We could've won this duel with Ouroboros, now that we know how to counter your little deck! You had nothing to be able to counter us! Destroy us and the little sorcerer then, boy.

See how that weighs on you."

Man, I think you don't realize something.

The reason I was waiting around for you to summon something like Ouroboros is because you need something to make a "vaccine" from, to start creating a cure.

Namely, the Evilswarm Virus. Do I have that right?

"...What.

Then... it was never about winning and losing!"

They look over at Kaz who gives a happy wave. Back to you.

"We were set-up."

"Thems the breaks", huh?

Gigas, grab 'em so ARKADIA can hit!

*oh god Sullivan the Gigas just dove underwater and then came up quick as a flash behind you, grabbing you, as ARKADIA's spear glows-- first sickly with the Evilswarm virus, but then purified, gathering into energy.

Before blasting at you.*

It struggles like...

...well a bug being grabbed by a huge titan, most of whatever it can do probably going to fixing that gaping hole that was in it's chest.

"No! We can't end like th-YYYYYRRRRRGH"

*the energy blasts through, burning away at the Evilswarm virus as much as it possibly can, before gradually ceasing, as the sound goes off signifying a duel end.

ARKADIA, the ocean, and Gigas-- everything vanishes after that.*

They sort of lay there, smoking. Before there's a groan as Sullivan flops over onto their belly.

"That was actually. Fairly pleasant."

They tap on their head, then hum happily. A pause. They hum again, louder and more out of key.

"A hum! I see people and don't see something to infect!" They close their eyes and... nothing happens.

"I didn't grow wings! By the gods above I didn't grow wings and I WANTED to~!" Oh god there's a laughing and flopping Sullivan wrapped around you Kai.
