1.) Kaz sits in a patio restaurant, eating a sandwich, drinking a beer, and smoking occasionally. Maybe you've called him there to meet after a nightmare meeting, or you're there to ruin his afternoon. What looks like a bakery package is at his feet He's also considering some notes on his tablet, but seems much more interested in his lunch.

2.) Or he's on the Barian island. True to his word, he has brought a few different kinds of beer, a boar hunting spear, a book, and Sullivan, who seems really excited to be there..

"I mean, that'd be my first guess." He raps on the table.

"Tell her to stop? I'll remind you every time I see you looking tacky and smiling."

Thing is I'm not sure the clothing or the smiling are at all negative impacts to my identity at this point.

"...I don't know what to tell you kid. You're probably better for your 'peers' to be around than you were for a little while."

He takes a swig.

"Though I will say you did think the smiling was a pretty big thing, few weeks ago."

::Gives a giant bewildered look.::

... this isn't going to go anywhere.

"Yeah, but, whatever. If it's not now, it's not now and doesn't matter much anymore."

Hrm. Probably not. Though getting worked up over a smile seems. Stupid?

"Yeah, that's what I was trying to say."

He sighs.

"You, uh. Also cracked three of Sullivan's ribs."

... I did? ::Blinks.:: I was giving him a gentle strong punch.

"Uh. They're... built more like a normal human most of the time since, you know. Not being built like a normal human more than five minutes a month or something would end in going full bug and trying to infect Domino.

That would've been gentle for my family, not... the wispy nerd."

Well geez, sorry.

::Gesticulates in a Noriko-esque manner.::

Screw me for thinking he was more bug than human even normally, gawd.

Does this mean there's four now, one in larval form?

Kaz shudders involuntarily.

"Look, I'm not the one to apologize to. It's Sullivan who needs a 'Sorry I punched you too hard' card."

::Huffs.::

I'll think about it.

"...They really like you, y'know. Even though you nearly killed them they were still beside themselves with the little gifts you gave them."

::Blushes, flustering.::

I-I wasn't trying to kill them.

"No, I know that. You know that. Even they know that, but... Might be nice to hear it from you. Maybe take them to a museum or something. I think there's an exhibit opening soon that may feature some of their archaeological work, that they haven't done in years.

'Course, they don't realize it's happening. Might be a good make up date, huh?"

I'll... consider something.

::Sighs wistfully.::

"...What's that sigh for?"

::Looks at you like your head is five tentacles.::

... It... seemed appropriate?

"...Yeah.

Let 'em down gently."

He reaches over and pats you.

::Makes a light mrrring sound.::

"Give the just friends talk.

Or ignore them until it boils over.

Whatever floats your boat and keeps me out of the explosion radius."
